Is the tone supposed to be clear? it sounds like there is some phase noise issues somewhere
If you are using one of my agile PLL boards, it could be because your 10MHz reference isnt good enough. (10MHz cleanliness/Phase noise makes a huge difference.)

Sounds like rain scatter. He had pretty heavy cloud on the horizon.

Hello sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the advice, in any case I did further evidence of receipt and the note comes out clean. On that day, if I remember correctly there was a storm front to the north, I conclude that it is rain scatter.
