400 W px ??? Advanced Stations

Post by VK4TS »

400W PEP ?

Ok I am comfortable with our power limits but would like more...but I was researching the ZL system for 2X1 callsigns and how they are allocated and under ZL regulations the power output of a station is determined as 500W PX with no reference to any modes and it says it is as per the ITU determination...

If we are governed by the ITU as a guideline then how do our neighbours over the Tasman read the regs differently ...or does the ACMA have it wrong in the interpretation ?

Should our CW/Mixed mode output allowance be 400 W or (500) ?

And even more importantly, our 'other modes' should be 400/500, not 120W!

Yes , I think this should be looked into as a matter of importance ,all this time we have been encumbered by this power limit and under the same interpretation ZL sees it differently.
I was working Ross ZL1WN on 23cm eme this morning and he happily runs 200+ watts on jt65c, while I am stuck with 120. hmmmm there is a problem with the interpretation of the ITU regs here.
